Overview
Calcium lactate is White to white crystal or powder, odourless tasteless,white to white crystal or powder, odourless tasteless. It is freely soluble in water, and hardly insoluble in ethanol.It is produced by complete neutralisation of lactic acid with calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide neutralization, subsequent crystallisation and dehydration.
Calcium is mainly used for food additive, In food industry as chelating agent,buffering agent,tissue coagulator and calcium fortifier.It’s widely used for dairy products,jam,cold drinks,flour and pastry.
